Skills for Life: How Neuro-inclusive Apprenticeships Can Build The Foundations For Career Success

Event postponed due to illness - we will confirm a new date soon!

About the Event

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2025 (10th–16th February), join us for a panel discussion exploring this year’s theme: Skills for Life.

Apprenticeships can be a powerful pathway for neurodivergent individuals, equipping them with essential skills, confidence, and career opportunities. In this session, our expert panel will highlight the unique strengths neurodivergent apprentices bring to the workplace and share practical strategies for fostering an inclusive and supportive apprenticeship experience.

In this session, we will be exploring:

  • How neurodivergence can shape the apprenticeship journey and what this means for both individuals and employers.

  • The unique skills, perspectives, and value neurodivergent individuals bring to the workplace and to apprenticeship programmes.

  • Practical strategies and real-world examples of how to support neurodivergent apprentices and set them up for success.

Sign-up for the event and learn how neuro-inclusive apprenticeships can unlock potential, build life-long skills, and create meaningful career opportunities for neurodivergent talent.

Meet our panellists:

Host | Abigail Tenant
Consulting Business Psychologist

Abigail is neurodivergent with a diagnosis of dyslexia and ADHD. She has been working in the field of neurodiversity for several years, where she has developed a greater understanding on neurodiversity from working with clients and organisations. Through helping others, this has allowed her to understand herself more and find ways of working that align with her strengths. She is now working as a consultant with organisations and delivering webinars and workshops with Lexxic to educate others and continue to support the neurodivergent community.

Ben Thomas
Senior Business Psychologist at Lexxic

Ben is a Senior Business Psychologist at Lexxic, specialising in neurodiversity in the workplace. He has worked closely with clients to develop neuro-inclusive apprenticeship schemes, ensuring neurodivergent apprentices receive the right support to thrive.

With expertise in diagnostic assessments for dyslexia, developmental coordination disorder (DCD/dyspraxia), and dyscalculia, as well as workplace needs assessments for ADHD, autism, and cognitive functioning challenges, Ben provides tailored recommendations that break down barriers to success.

He also delivers one-to-one coaching, equipping neurodivergent individuals with strategies to build confidence and navigate their careers. Passionate about fostering inclusive workplaces, Ben’s insights into workplace adjustments and strengths-based support has helped organisations unlock the potential of neurodivergent talent both within and outside of apprenticeship programmes.

Ruby Latka
Production Apprentice at Channel 4

Ruby Latka is a production apprentice at Channel 4, where she’s created content for the network and led internal projects with fellow apprentices. After sixth form, she was set to start a Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with Jaguar Land Rover, but when that fell through, she found herself working in a call centre. Having completed a BFI Film Academy course alongside her A-levels, Ruby resiliently pursued a creative career, starting her apprenticeship with Channel 4 in 2023, which she is due to complete at the end of the month. Outside work, her love of film keeps her frequenting her local cinema.
