A consistent framework, built around the full employee journey.
Every ND Smart assessment looks at the same three core domains, each reflecting a distinct stage of the employee experience. All three are assessed at one of three maturity levels: Emerging, Committed or Embedded.
← Back to ND Smart OverviewFrom first contact to day one, this domain explores whether your recruitment processes, job descriptions, interviews and onboarding practices are accessible, structured and inclusive. It identifies what is already working well, while revealing any hidden barriers that may be unintentionally screening neurodivergent talent out. By completing this domain, you will gain clearer insight into how your organisation can attract, assess and onboard neurodivergent talent more effectively, whilst also understanding where gaps in practice may create risk.
From entry to progression, this domain explores whether your management approaches, communication practices, performance frameworks and career development pathways are accessible and inclusive. It builds a clearer picture of where neurodivergent colleagues are being supported to apply their strengths and insights, while identifying any barriers that may be inadvertently impacting development and progression opportunities. By completing this domain, you will gain clearer insight into how your organisation can support neurodivergent talent development, while also understanding where gaps in practice may create risk.
This domain explores whether your digital and physical environments, reasonable adjustment processes, flexible working practices, psychological safety and operational policies are accessible, responsive and inclusive. It builds a clearer picture of where existing practices are enabling neurodivergent colleagues to work in ways that align with their strengths and needs, while identifying any barriers that may be impacting wellbeing, consistency and day-to-day experience. By completing this domain, you will gain clearer insight into how your organisation can strengthen the everyday conditions that support neurodivergent colleagues to work effectively, while also understanding where gaps in practice may create risk.
Every domain also considers risk, and how action, or inaction, in that area shapes the wider culture of neuroinclusion across your organisation. Together, they give a consistent, evidence-based way to understand current practice, identify barriers, and prioritise what to do next.
Our downloadable guide covers each domain in more depth, including what good practice looks like in each area.
